Who I Am
I'm Christine, counselor and art therapist, listener,
nature-lover, poet, faith-full creative
The work that I do is gentle, but full of energy, enthusiasm, and determination.
In other words, I will take a "spirited" approach to helping you, at your own pace, take an active role in your own healing. My goal is to be with you on your journey of deepening self-awareness and seeing life through the eyes of your True Self.
I work best with people who:
Are overwhelmed by stress, grief, or past trauma
Feel discouraged or disempowered
Want to use imagination and creativity as a fresh way of approaching therapy
Want to slow down and feel more connected with their bodies
Are willing to explore and challenge old patterns and beliefs that may no longer serve them
Creativity and Mindfulness have been an important part of both my professional and personal journey. I have a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and a master's degree and national board certification in Creative Arts Therapy. I am also a Certified Mind Body Medicine Practitioner (I meditate and help others to do so too). I love encouraging my clients to use imagination and relaxation for healing because they are amazed and convinced of its value every single time. My own creativity practices include drawing, poetry, music, digging in my garden and meditation. I have worked as an art therapist for ten years in many different settings and with many wonderful and diverse people. I am aware of the importance of leading with my patient and compassionate Self and promise to always relate to you from Self in our sessions together.
Benefits of Online Counseling:
I was a little skeptical about counseling clients online, however, after using this modality since the beginning of Spring, I have become very comfortable with it and am convinced of its many benefits.
For many clients it is more comforting to be at home or in a safe place of their choosing.
It is very flexible, convenient, and easier to find time for a weekly session.
As your therapist working remotely, I am able to offer counseling at a lower rate.
Time is saved commuting to and from appointments
You can eliminate any fears of running into people you may know in waiting areas of a therapy office
For your safety and confidentiality, online sessions are done through Simple Practice which is secure and HIPPA compliant.
There is always a chance however, that technical difficulties could occur even with the most reliable internet service but there will always be an alternative plan so you will not be left stranded.
